Lush 2014 Halloween Collection

It's that time of year again! Lush is coming out with their new Autumn/Halloween collection, and this year it's mostly new products.

There are 6 products in the collection, five bath products and one soap. Unfortunately the store didn't have the Fairy Ring Soap, however I did pick up all of the bath products (which is really the best part of Lush anyway).

This year, the collection was inspired much more by Autumn than it was by Halloween, as only one of the products was truly festive. If you'd like to see my review of the collection in video form, you can see my Lush Halloween Collection Haul on my Youtube channel: http://youtu.be/hkhyH-Gd5h0

Wizard

Wizard Hat is an adorable bubble bar. It's meant to look like a wizard wearing his hat (obviously), however it looks a little more like a misshapen mountain, which makes it even cuter in my opinion. One thing I love about this product is that although it has glitter on it, it's not overwhelming like some other Lush products are. Also, if you look closely enough there are tiny gold stars on it. Crumble it under running water to get bubbles in your bath. The scent is sweet and flowery, and is probably my second favourite scent out of the Halloween Collection.

Northern Lights

Northern Lights is inspired by the night sky. Although this bath bomb is simple, it's probably one of the most exciting ones Lush has made so far. It's a vibrant purple, with little white stars on the outside. However the best part is when you drop it in the water. The product will start fizz, just like a normal bath bomb, but it will also crackle like a firework, and then blue and green will erupt from the middle. Careful not to break this one as it is especially powdery and does get everywhere. Although it's not the best scent in the collection, as it does smell a tinge like laundry detergent, it's beauty more than makes up for it. It definitely reminds me of the Aurora that it's named after.

Lord of Misrule

Lord of Misrule is another fun concept that Lush came out with this year. It's the product that links the Halloween Collection and the Christmas/Winter Holiday Collection together. It's inspired by the Pagan Feast of Fools, where a commoner would have the chance to become Lord for the day, and it's design features the shape of a crown (or a star, depending on which way you're looking at it.) The outside is a vibrant green with red and yellow specks, and once dropped in water, a deep red starts pouring out. Black pepper and vanilla are two of the ingredients used in the bath bomb, resulting in a spicy yet sweet smell. In my opinion, the smell is the third best in the Halloween Collection.

Sparkler

Much like it's name, Sparkler is the simplest product of the Halloween Collection. Similar to Northern Lights (although in my opinion, not as pretty or exciting), it's a bath bomb that when dropped in water starts to pop and crackle. The inspiration for this one are fireworks, and it's filled with popping candy to deliver that effect. Although the product is plain on the outside, the inside has some orange, and the two colours swirl around each other. Paired with the fact that Sparkler's scent is Rose Jam, one of Lush's most well-known aromas and incredibly sweet and delicious, this product should stay in stock year-round.

Sparkly Pumpkin

Sparkly Pumpkin is definitely my favourite product from this year's collection! It's the most appealing visually, and the aroma is absolutely mouthwatering, citrusy and sweet all at once. I hope they use this scent in one of their year-round products, as I can't get enough of it! This bubble bar not only looks decently close to what it's named after, but it's also covered in glitter. Normally I'm not the type to buy glittery products from Lush, as I find it annoying to clean the bath out after relaxing in it, but I had to make an exception for this one (have I mentioned how good it smells yet?)

Overall I was pleased with the Halloween Collection this year. Although most of it is more Autumn inspired than Halloween, it got me in the spirit!

Prices (in Canadian Dollars)

Wizard: $7.95
Northern Lights: $5.95
Lord of Misrule: $6.95

(Bubble Bars tend to be more expensive than Bath Bombs as they have more oils in them that benefit your skin.)
